On Tuesday, May 2, the Greely High School Madrigal Singers sang the national anthem to open the session of the Maine House of Representatives. They were the invited guests of Rep. Anne Graham (North Yarmouth) and Rep. Steve Moriarty (Cumberland).

Sophomore Grace Belanger is in the process of editing the hours of film that were recorded for the short comedy film she has been working on as part of her comedy screenwriting SILO. As part of this project, Grace has worked with Portland comedian Ian Stuart over the course of her project, and has met with (and written with) Maine improv troupe, Balderdash Academy. Further, her peers (and the wonderful Mr. Curry) showed up to support her through acting, filming, and writing. A beautiful example of the community coming together to help someone accomplish something meaningful.

We are pleased to announce the teen winner of the Maine Country Music Hall of Fame 2023 High School Student Guitar Competition. Sixteen-year-old Maddie Yates of North Yarmouth, a junior at Greely High School in Cumberland, placed first in the 2023 statewide contest open to Maine high school teens.

'Heroes of the Flame: Rise of the Phoenix' was released today. It is written by GHS junior, Elizabeth Anderton. It's about a young girl navigating the pressures of high school along with some unexpected powers. If you are interested in purchasing a book, you can order through the publishing company, Walnut Street Publishing

Harper, our school therapy dog received a new vest today. The color was chosen by Mr. Schaefer's Alternative Ed. Class. Pink is her color!

Hundreds of eggs appeared on the lawn of the Institute. The Class of 2023 were invited to hunt for them.
