From the Superintendent
Well, there goes 2025, another calendar year almost in the books. In reflection upon the year, I am thankful that 2025 saw shovels in the ground for the new PK-1 school and MIW classroom addition, a new turf field completed in August, and a new facilities building that is set to be finished at the end of this week.
As we look ahead to 2026, we have many challenges on the horizon in addition to continuing work on the One Campus construction project. A new strategic plan will be developed this spring to guide the school community for the next several years. Many thanks to the 568 respondents so far to the recent survey requesting input on future strategic plan priorities (the survey will remain open through Friday 12/19). Many thanks also to the 286 stakeholders who responded to the Pre-K survey and the 2,778 respondents who weighed in on the name for the new PK-1 school. All of this information will help our schools launch 2026 in the right direction.
2025 has brought forth so many examples of Greely pride and achievement, too numerous to mention, which makes our motto "Leading the Way" truly come to life. My very best wishes to all students, staff, and families during the upcoming winter break. Seasons Greetings and see you back in 2026!
Regards,
Jeff Porter

GHS Madrigal Singers performed holiday favorites, portions of the Vivaldi Gloria and even a Christmas Carol sing along with the Maine Youth Orchestra at the Greely Center for the Arts last week 🎶

Students at MIW had the opportunity to vote on the name of the new PK–1 school.
