Spanish 2 classes have been reading about the famous baseball player Felipe Alou, learning about his struggles as a Major League Baseball player during segregation in the US as well as about the deep history of baseball in the Dominican Republic. Over the past few weeks 2 former Greely grads, Brad McKenney '12 and Erin Alberghini Santana '00, and Greely parent Dave Bush, made time to share with our students their experiences with these topics. We are so grateful for the time they took to explain their perspectives on the importance of knowing Spanish, the sport of baseball and the cultural challenges for hispanic players. Muchas gracias!
