Daily Math Problems:
A Venn diagram is a way of representing all possible logical relationships between a collection of sets.
The image shows a Venn diagram for three sets A, B and C
How would you describe each of the seven regions in the diagram using unions ∪ and intersections ∩ of A,B,C,Ac,Bc,Cc where the complements Ac,Bc and Cc of the sets A,B and C are the sets of elements not contained in A,B and C respectively relative to a universal set A∪B∪C
Create a Venn diagram for 4 sets A, B, C and D. Make sure that your diagram contains regions for all possible intersections and you might like to experiment to create a particularly pleasing diagram.
Yesterday's Daily Math Problem Solution:
James is starting to save $150 to buy a new cell phone. In January, he saved $5. In February, he saved twice as much as he saved in January, for a total savings of $15 ($5+$10). If James continues to save twice as much each month as he saved the previous month, in which month will his total savings be enough to buy the phone?
